What a beautiful day for golf! It was hot and sunny, but a nice breeze on occasion (maybe from the flocks of Canadian Geese dropping in to see us?).
Golfers enjoyed a fantastic lunch, sponsored by SFI Group Limited, on the outdoor patio, while overseeing the Livingston Putting Challenge where golfers were paying for the chance to win a big screen TV.
Congratulations to Move For Hunger, who will be the recipient of $365 in funds raised as well as about 50 lbs in food from those who brought food from home.
After a brief moment to reflect on the late Peter Naylor’s contribution and support of CAMs annual golf tournament, the golfers hit the course and had a great day with a mix of straight golf and fun challenges to spice up the play.
Participants enjoyed a brief reception and then a yummy buffet while the contest results were posted and prizes were handed out.
And the winners are...
Best Foursome: Greg & Sons Moving & Storage (score -9) Perry Thorne, Richelle Pollard, Giancarlo Marcella, Weston Pollard
Most Honest: Mover One Group (score +5) Dan Lawrence, Catherine Chan, Danny Timmins, Patrick Connor
Closest to the Pin: Catherine Chan, Mover One Group & Roger Poole, Warehouse Properties Limited
Closest to the Line: Tyler Shadd, United Van Lines
Closest to the Wine: Steve Stockill, Victory Packaging winning for himself, Lorne Babiuk, Chris Gordon, Mark Hudson
Putting Contest: Mary Stalker, XN Financial for a big screen TV
Oven Mitt Challenge: TBA – Nancy forgot to write it down!
Hockey Stick Putting: Steve Stockill, Lorne Babiuk, Chris Gordon, Mark Hudson
Chipping Contests: Ogilvy Insurance and Blue Bins both ran chipping contests and there were winners, but Nancy forgot to write down the 4 winners names.
Victory Ball: Team 10B – Ralph Schumann, Chris Bailey, Tom Robson, Jay Ryan
Tee Guessing: Katy Duncan, guess of 465, off by 3 tees.
Door Prizes: 22, a one in three chance to win something!
Congratulations to all of the lucky ducks.
And of course, none of this would have happened without the support of our hole and prize sponsors and Hansen’s who stepped up to the plate to be our presenting sponsor. Speaking of plates, we must thank our lunch sponsor SFI Group.
Here are a few more highlights of the day!
