Canadian Association of Movers L'Association canadienne des déménageurs |
|
Randy Hoyt, Chairman
In this, my second message to you, I would like to review a few of the recent changes and achievements that will make membership in the Canadian Association of Movers a competitive tool. During the past year, the Board of Directors established a compensation committee led by Graham Acreman. The mandate of this committee is to determine levels of compensation for movers across Canada. All the information gathered will be treated confidentially with no members or CAM staff seeing any raw data. The data will be analyzed to provide members with the range of compensation for all positions in the moving industry: managers, sales staff, drivers, helpers, warehouse staff, and others. The data will be presented by geographic region and size of company, so that individual member companies can determine appropriate pay levels for their staff. Preliminary results should be available early in 2002. Our annual conference, titled Profitability: focusing on your bottom line, is scheduled for November 19 and 20 in Toronto. It will showcase several new or improved features for movers:
The objectives of these initiatives are to ensure that CAM brings value to its members and, in turn, recognizes achievement in the industry. We believe that CAMs sixth annual conference will follow in the footsteps of previous offerings. (Last years was given a satisfaction rating of 4.6 out of 5 by the delegates.) We look forward to your participation. |
