CAM’s Packing-Unpacking Course
The filming for CAM’s Packing-Unpacking video training course is now complete. Together with the Helper training video, these videos will make an ideal way to introduce new employees to the moving profession. Watch for details shortly.
Criminal Record Checks
Many members are reporting that they are being asked to provide evidence of criminal record checks when they are working with specific clients. This seems to be a growing trend that you may need to prepare for. CAM is currently trying to find creditable sources for these checks.
CAM Membership Survey Results
We just completed a survey of members of the association – movers and suppliers – and received some interesting responses. Thank you for your input. Responses were generally constructive and positive. A few important recommendations included:
- Improve lobbying role with government
- Initiating members’ discount programs, especially fuel
- Improve the communications with suppliers to the moving industry and group purchasing
- Increase communications with the consumer
- Redesign the website to take advantage of CAM’s search-engine rankings
Questionnaire Software
CAM just completed a member survey using phpESP software. We found it very easy to use and got useful responses from members. Should you wish to use the software for your own customer service questionnaires, it’s freeware and available from http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpesp. All you have to do is get your web designer to install it for you.

You may have seen an email like this. It’s usually sent to “undisclosed recipients” which probably means it’s going to a lot of movers. It seems to be another form of a common scam. Take care!
