Board of Directors

The board of directors of the Canadian Association of Movers (CAM) is responsible for overseeing and advising the president and staff so that CAM functions as effectively as possible as a not-for-profit organization. The board ensures that CAM operates lawfully and in the interests of the association's members. It operates independently of CAM's management and day-to-day operations.

CAM’s board of directors considers important issues relating to the association, its members, its employees and contractors, and the public. It's involved in:

• Helping CAM to define objectives, establish major goals, and stay focused on its direction over time.

• Acting as a sounding board by advising the president and staff in their planning and decision-making as appropriate.

• Overseeing budgets and ensuring proper funding when important resources are required.

• Monitoring, and making necessary changes to, financial and accounting activities to safeguard association finances and assets.

• Building and maintaining a strong, lasting, and positive brand identity for the association and the public.

Every board member is expected to use their position and expertise to advance the best interests of the association while remaining objective and free from conflicts of interest. Board members are also expected to keep all information confidential and uphold the association’s code of ethics.
