A wrong choice in the selection of a moving company to move a lifetime’s worth of household possessions can be disastrous. Scam operators will take advantage of consumers by offering cut-rate prices, making unrealistic promises, inflating the price on moving day and holding the household possessions for ransom. These con artists take no responsibility for the level of service delivered. If a mover’s offer looks and sounds too good to be true, it is. Buyer Beware!
Why take the chance? Find reputable movers you can trust through CAM. CAM is Canada’s only trade association representing moving and storage companies. Our members include movers and relocation companies, van lines, international movers both in Canada and overseas, suppliers to the industry and trade associations in other countries. Our purpose is to further the interests of owner-managed moving and storage companies, by assisting consumers to access credible, professional moving services.
The Consumer’s Responsibility
Research prospective moving companies before making your final selection. Ask for estimates from at least three reliable movers in your area and check their references, so that you can evaluate your options and costs. Get all promises in writing. Look for best value – not best price.
Contact CAM and we will recommend a Certified Canadian Mover who will deliver a moving service that is fair in practice and cost, professional, safe and timely. Contact your local Better Business Bureau to obtain a reliability report before hiring.
It’s your responsibility to make an informed choice. It’s our responsibility to help you make it.

Consumer's Responsibility During COVID-19
Here's a link to find a current update on COVID-19 and some recommended health and safety precautions for your upcoming move. The designation that moving and warehouse services are essential allows moving operations the latitude to remain in operation should they choose. CAM does not maintain a list of which moving companies are open for business and which are closed.
